New Build Starting

Last week was a big week. We received some really nice kiln dried Alder to make 6 bodies. The lumber was provided by Kreis Sawmill in Marysville, OH. When it was received it was 2″ thick and 8 1/2″ wide. Though it was rough with still had bark in a few places, it was clear and light.

I cut it down to manageable size that would fit the CNC, joined it and glued it up to make a pretty nice blank. The end result was what you see below.

As I am not a CNC technician I’d like to thank John Overly for letting me use his shop and to Lenny Garrard for putting in the time with me to get the CNC setup and rolling. The end result was great. I’ll post some progress of the standing and finishing as things progress.
