Rohrs Strat & Eric Clapton

One of my favorite guitar players is Eric Clapton and though I cannot play anything like him, his music grabs my attention. Specifically, I love the song “Layla”. The guitar he plays in this version is not “Blackie” but is another signature he has. The “Black Strat” I built was a homage to that guitar with a few adjustments.

Unlike the one he’s playing here, I went with “pearloid” dots to dress up the neck instead of the black dots, and I also threw in a master tone control instead of two tone controls with the bridge wired into the second tone control. The pickups are Gold Lace Sensor pickups are amazing and are quiet with a great strat bite. We finished the headstock with a silver embossed Rohrs logo.
